Yosef, will convene this Thursday to finalize the list for the Shas slot. the fight over the first place is in full swing between Eli Yishai and Aryeh Deri, both claiming senior-ship.
According to an exclusive report by Kikar HaShabbat, there are talks behind the scenes about a possibility that Aryeh Deri will be appointed as
Chairman, while Eli Yishai will win the battle and be placed in the first place on the
list and get the role of the most senior minister in the next government.
Shas officials have confirmed the details, that are being worked out at this point: "Aryeh is
ready to give up the first place for Yishai, but has requested in return to be appointed as
chairman before the elections."according to sources in Shas.
