portal IzRus has published the most important pieces of a secret document obtained, that sheds light on the allied strategy of Yisrael Beitenu and Likud party in the formation of the next government.
According to the document, Netanyahu has committed to give the Yisrael Beitenu faction 7.6 ministerial portfolios in the next government. Lieberman intends to demand the Ministry of Construction, Interior, Homeland Security, Agriculture and absorption. The document states that the control of the first four departments will NDI monopolize "the land issue." This also serves as a condition for the fulfillment of one of the three key objectives pursued by the party in the next government - the construction and modification of the criteria of distribution of subsidized public housing.
"In light of
the agreement with the Likud, the chairman of the party will
be able to choose one of the 3 most important (ministerial)
portfolios in the next government - Defense, Foreign Affairs or Finance
- in our opinion, he should give preference to one of two alternatives:
Finance or Foreign Affairs," the drafters note.
Further, they argue in favor of Lieberman picking the Finance Ministry is: "... Although the one who gets the portfolio (Ministry) of Finance, will have to be faced with multi-billion rate (budget), the portfolio of finance is very important in the first place, in determining the agenda of the next government in the implementation Yisrael Beitenu's intention to strengthen the middle class, and find ways for the weaker sections of the (population) - a way out of poverty, as opposed to Shas' positions which is seeking to perpetuate poverty and weaken the middle class."
