Netanyahu Emerges Lightly Wounded Out of Ceasefire Deal, Poll Shows

Despite the displeasure among the Israeli Public in general and the right wing voters in particular about ending the Gaza Offensive too soon, a new poll conducted by Ma'agar Mohot institute for Israeli newspaper Ma'ariv found the newly-merged party of Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, 'Likud Beiten'u, would take 37 of the 120 Knesset seats up for grabs on January 22.

While Netanyahu has seen an immediate drop in support, with the Israeli public expressing mixed impressions of his conduct during operation Pillar of Defense, with no viable opposition, Netanyahu still remains on track to win a third term as prime minister at the head of a solid 70 seat coalition majority.
