IBD poll: 81% of Americans say Iran can't be allowed to have Nuclear

(Investors).Year after year, the American people have made it clear they view a nuclear Iran as an unacceptable risk, and the most recent results of the IBD/TIPP Poll, shown above, found that those sentiments remain strong.

Yet the poll also shows a loss of confidence in our government's ability to prevent this terrorist-sponsoring state from joining the nuclear family.

81% of Americans remain in broad agreement that Iran cannot be allowed to have nuclear weapons, However, unlike in '06, 47% now believe the U.S. should take military action to stop Iran from building nuclear weapons if diplomacy and economic sanctions fail. Two and a half years ago, when we asked if military action should be taken to stop Iran's uranium-enrichment activities, only 39% said yes. An even larger percentage - 54% are comfortable with Israel taking such action.

46% say Iran is a bigger and bolder threat since Obama took Office Jan. 2009, 51% now believe that the US cannot prevent Iran from getting Nukes.

At a press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, President Obama said Tuesday:
"We agreed that if the International Atomic Energy Agency this week determines again that Iran is continuing to ignore its international obligations, then we will have no choice but to consider additional steps, including potentially additional sanctions, to intensify the pressure on the Iranian regime."
The investors article ends by this:

This is a Hitler moment for the world — except that Hitler couldn't incinerate a city. And as in the 1930s, the free world is in a dangerous daze.
