Netanyahu plans PR campaign to explain 'positive aspects' of the new budget

(Haaretz). The Prime Minister's Office is preparing a media campaign to explain its economic plan and the 2009-2010 state budget. The PMO asked the Government Advertising Bureau to urgently prepare such a campaign yesterday. It is scheduled to start airing in the next few days. The campaign is expected to cost millions of shekels, and will appear in both the print and the electronic media.

TheMarker reported at the end of last week that an analysis of the new budget and Economic Arrangements Law shows the government is raising the tax burden on Israeli citizens by NIS 9.5 billion a year.

The PMO and Finance Ministry said yesterday: "We are examining different ways to provide the media and the public full, reliable and professional information on both the first two-year budget in the state's history and on the economic program."
