(Jpost).Labor Party Secretary-General Eitan Cabel on Tuesday submitted a letter of resignation to Defense Minister and Labor Party chairman Ehud Barak.
"In endlessly stinging grief," he wrote, "I have reached this morning the conclusion that your political home, which you are creating, is no longer my home.
"As of tomorrow, I will be acting as a layman party member to restore its former glory, so that we might reclaim the paths of [David] Ben-Gurion and [Yitzhak] Rabin," Cabel continued.
"What you need is a groundskeeper, not a secretary-general nor a director-general. I am not [a groundskeeper]. To my friends I say: The skies over our party are clouded, but the dawn of a new day will eventually shine."
Last month, Barak informed Cabel that he planned to remove him from his post, after he refused to accept the decision of the party's central committee to enter the government.
