Netanyahu praises Obama for Iran sanctions as positive step that must be followed by harsher firm measures

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lauded the Security Council's decision Wednesday to impose a fourth round of sanctions against Iran.

The prime minister specifically praised US President Barack Obama for his determined effort to lead the sanctions, calling the UN's decision a "positive step."

"The UN Security Council resolution passed today, led by the decisiveness of President Obama, is a positive step,The resolution made clear to Iran that the world's leading powers oppose its nuclear program."

"The biggest danger to peace is that the most dangerous regimes in the world will use the most dangerous weapons of all. The international community needs to continue to keep the prevention of this threat at the top its agenda, I hope the positive step we achieved today will be followed by firm measures – including sanctions on the Iranian energy market."
