Jon Voight, Chuck Devore and Michelle Bachmann at the Israel Solidarity Rally in LA

Almost all of the speakers, which included Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, GOP gubernatorial candidate Steve Poizner and U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., defended the actions of Israeli soldeirs who last week boarded a Turkish ship trying to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. The soldiers killed nine people aboard the ship after they were attacked with metal sticks and other weapons.

Standing in front of several hundred pro-Israel demonstrators, Assembly Chuck DeVore, R-Irvine and candidate for US Senate hollered most of his speech, which was broadcast at ear-splitting volume. And he used some of the same provocative rhetoric he's become known for.

"Let us say this unequivocally and unashamedly and emphatically: What Israel did to the Gaza flotilla was right, it was legal and it was moral," Devore bellowed. "It is never wrong to starve a movement that thinks the Holocaust was simply a good start. The fight between Israel and Hamas is a fight between civilization and barbarisim. It is as simple as that."

DeVore then turned up the volume to 11.

"America stands against Israel's enemies for the same reason it stood against Nazism and fascism and Communism. I say clearly that the enemies of Israel are just as genocidal and just as tyrannical and just as savage as those defeated movements. The defenders of the Gaza flotilla say it was just a humanitarian mission. They say they were peace activists. They lie!!"
