Livni seeks 'Big brother' turnout and will get 'Boring Baby' turnout

Livni seeks 'Big Brother' voter turnout in Kadima primary

(Haaretz).Kadima leader Tzipi Livni said Wednesday that she wanted voter turnout in the party's primary to rival that of reality show Big Brother, whose grand final aired Tuesday night on Israeli television and garnered two million votes.

Livni cast her ballot for the party's Knesset list in her home city of Tel Aviv, telling reporters that she feared turnout would be low. Many in Kadima share her concern, expecting turnout to reach between 30 to 40 percent.

On the eve of the vote, Livni took aim at her main rival for the prime minister's job in the February general elections, Likud chief Benjamin Netanyahu. Speaking to Haaretz on Tuesday night, the foreign minister said that she trusts Kadima members to vote on a list of Knesset candidates "that is good for the party."

The Kadima leadership is nervously awaiting the closing of the polls, since with so many combinations and choices available to party voters, it is extremely hard to predict the results.
