(Ynet).Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised right-wing sources in the coalition that "within days you will be pleasantly surprised by the agreements with the Americans."
In talks with the right-wing sources, the prime minister rebuffed recent reports in Israeli media of Israel's willingness to implement a broad freeze on settlement construction. He asked the sources to allow him to run negotiations with the United States without any political pressure from home.
Netanyahu's office expressed optimism Thursday night that in US special envoy George Mitchell's visit to Israel next weekend agreements will be reached that will include jumpstarting the political process with the Palestinians.
"The gaps remaining are very small," a PMO source said.
