Kikar Shabbes Welcome for Bibi in NY - Ultra Chareidi Residents are Welcoming the PM with Demonstration

(tog.co.il).The Prime Minister is expected to travel to New York soon, and when he arrives he will be greeted by angry chareidi protestors.

In Israel, the option of arranging a trilateral meeting between Obama, Netanyahu and the Chairman of the Palestinian Authority during the UN General Assembly in two weeks time is still being weighed. Meanwhile, the chareidi community in New York is already planning a large demonstration against the Prime Minister, Binyamin Netanyahu. The protest was timed to coincide with Netanyahu's visit to New York.

A series of demonstrations has been organized by the Association of Rabbis (Hitachdut Harabonim) in the United States, and the notices distributed by the call on the Jews of New York to attend "a huge gathering scheduled for the time when the Prime Minister of the country of kophrim will be in the United States". The details of the gathering have not yet been clarified, and will be publicized in the coming days. "For the sake of our dear brothers, the residents of Eretz HaKodesh, who are oppressed and persecuted by the Zionist government," is the concluding phrase on the notices printed by the "Headquarters for Action of the Association of Rabbis of the United States and Canada."

The demonstrators will protest the persecution of the chareidi population in Israel by the Israeli government, in the form of severe violence recently exhibited by the police towards the chareidi community in Jerusalem, which nearly caused a death.

This is not the first time that a protest has been organized in the United States against Israeli Prime Ministers. In the past, a protest was arranged to coincide with the visit of former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to the United States, but was canceled at the last minute due to a bomb scare that occurred at the time.

The demonstration is scheduled for Wednesday.
