PM Netanyahu Appoints Ministerial Committee on Developing the Palestinian Economy and Improving Palestinians' Quality of Life

Following his meeting last night (Wednesday), 6.5.09, with Quartet envoy
Tony Blair, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to appoint a
ministerial committee on developing the Palestinian economy and improving
the Palestinians' quality of life. The committee's members will be: Defense
Minister Ehud Barak, Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz and Minister Silvan
Shalom. Due to the importance that he ascribes to the issue, Prime Minister
Netanyahu will chair the committee himself. He will ask Minister Shalom to
begin advancing several economic projects soon in Jenin, Jericho and the
Qasr al-Yehud baptismal site.
