Happy Independence day, Israel - "The Pre-eminence of Israel will not lie"

(Jacob Kornbluh). The 5th of Iyar, Independence Day is a celebration of the renewal of the Jewish state in the Land of Israel, the birthplace of the Jewish people.

This right was recognized in the Balfour Declaration of the 2nd November, 1917, and re-affirmed in the Mandate of the League of Nations which, in particular, gave international sanction to the historic connection between the Jewish people and Eretz-Israel and to the right of the Jewish people to rebuild its National Home.

The first country to recognize the State of Israel was the United States. That recognition almost didn't happen. It was by the will of the President, Harry Truman, that the UN Partition Plan was implemented. Throughout the months leading up to May 1948, the president made his wishes clear, he wanted a Homeland for the Jewish People, not because of political reasons, but because it was the right and moral thing to do.

At 6:11 p.m., just 11 minutes after Ben Gurion announced the establishment of the Jewish State, President Harry Truman sent out his press secretary to read this statement: Ross read aloud to them: "Statement by the President. This government has been informed that a Jewish state has been proclaimed in Palestine....The United States recognizes the provisional government as the de facto authority of the new State of Israel."

Since the Arabs did not accept the UN’s proposal for 2 states, denied a truce with Israel, Israel has been battling for its survival as the Jewish state recognized by the US government and the united nations. Its neighbors and enemies then and now refused to recognize the existence of Israel, yet with the US support since then and with the continued US support, the American people and the us administration , Israel keeps the right of its self defense and fights for the enemy the united states faces now.. the enemy of freedom and democracy.

Israel then and now, is ready to give up on land, in return for peace with its neighbors, yet 63 years after Israel was recognized as a sovereign nation, some look for our destruction or question our legitimacy and sovereignty.

To those we say: Israel and the Jewish nation will long live, the spirit of the Jews will overcome any challenge, those seeking to destroy us, will be met with our strong will and might to defend ourselves, our freedom and security, and to those seeking to delegitimize us, to condemn us, to force us to give up on our dream, we say loud and clear,” the Pre-eminence of Israel will not lie nor repent”…instead of giving legitimacy to or turning a blind eye on those targeting civilians, incite against an entire nation and aim to destroy us, give legitimacy to the Jewish people willing to live secure and protected in peace, help Israel in its effort to seek peace.

In any case Israel is strong, and at the end the truth will prevail.
