Inner Cabinet ends day of meetings, No decision announced but gives green light to continue talks

No decision yet: Israel's top seven ministers failed to reach a decision on the Gilad Shalit swap following a lengthy meeting Monday night.

Following the meeting, which started at 9 pm, the Prime Minister's Offices issued an official announcement, stating that ministers "have instructed the negotiation team regarding the continuation of the effort for returning Gilad Shalit home safe and sound."

The director of the campaign for Gilad Shalit, Shimshon Libman, responded to the government meeting that ended late Monday without a decision on a prisoner swap for the kidnapped soldier.

"There is a positive tone here guiding mediator Hagai Hadass to continue working in the same direction. We are learning from experience and the path to redemption is not an easy one," Libman said.
