Netanyahu to make first trip to Europe as premier

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will visit Europe for the first time since being sworn in as prime minister earlier this year.

Netanyahu will stop in Rome on the 23rd of June to meet his Italian counterpart Silvio Berlusconi. The next day, the premier will meet French President Nicolas Sarkozy in Paris.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will attend the United Nations General Assembly opening session in New York this coming September.

Diplomatic sources in New York said that Netanyahu decided that Israel would be better served if he appeared to present Jerusalem's diplomatic positions.
